Meet some of the artists: Lloyd Whannell, Declan Travis, Lane Tompkins, Sue Taves, Woody Morris, Tom Lindsay and Penelope Crittenden will be at the studio to show you around. There will be a heater and hot cider and plenty of sculpture.

Freeland Art Studios is located at 1660 Roberta Ave. Turn onto Harbor Ave. one block south of the Hwy. 525/Main St. stop light and then turn left on Roberta Ave. between Whidbey Island Bank (not Heritage) and Wells Fargo Bank. FAS is located in the building behind the WAIF Thrift Store.

It’s starting to get cold outside and that means the hardy artists at FAS that are working at the studio are doing so in thick flannel and snowsuits. How we long for the long summer days! Stop in and visit, if the cars are there that means someone is working. You’ll usually find Lloyd Whannell and Sara Owens there almost every day. Watch for news of our annual open house in the spring and check out FAS artist’s work at the local galleries: Rob Schouten Gallery at Greenbank Farm, Trillium Home and Design, , Museo, Brackenwood Gallery, and the Whidbey Art Gallery all in Langley, and Karla Matzke’s Sculpture Park on Camano Island.

Look for news on an upcoming event to celebrate the new Freeland Art Studios Gallery space that will be happening in December. We’ll bring heaters!
